A property developed with a church and two small residential buildings in Lincoln Heights is up for redevelopment with affordable housing through the Mayor's Executive Directive 1.
The project from Drona Investments, slated for a property just east of the I-5 Freeway at 1931 N. Workman Street, is currently developed with structures completed between the 1880s and the mid-1970s. Plans call for razing those structures to make way for the construction of a new eight-story building which would feature 137 studio and one-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.

According to plans included with the project application, the apartments would be reserved for rent by moderate, low-, and very low-income households, with the exception of one market-rate manager's unit.
City records indicate that Ahk Architects is designing the apartment complex, which is depicted in plans as a contemporary stucco-clad building.

The proposed development would roughly three blocks west of a property on North Main Street where work is currently in progress for a mixed-use project featuring 97 units of affordable housing as well as community-serving commercial uses.
Drona Investments, in addition to the new L9incoln Heights development, is also seeking ED1 entitlements for a 157-unit apartment complex on Figueroa Street in South Los Angeles.
