The project, called Inspire Hollywood, replaces a surface parking lot at 1522-1538 N. Cassil Avenue.  Approved plans call for an eight-story building featuring 200 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments - including 20 affordable units - above approximately 1,100 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and three-level, 230-car subterranean parking garage.

DE Architects is designing Inspire Hollywood, which is depicted as a contemporary podium-type building.  The project's second floor is scaled to complement adjacent properties, while its south and west elevations step down to a fourth floor swimming pool.  The stepped tiered building heights are used to terrace decks for residents, adding to a rooftopamenity area.

The Real Deal reports that the approximately $100-million project is on pace for completion in 2021.

The development site - located just north of Sunset Boulevard - sits in close proximity to the $1-billion Crossroads Hollywood complex, as well as a growing hotel district centered on the intersection of Selma and Wilcox Avenues.

The Bond Companies is also developing a 47-unit apartment building in the Westlake neighborhood.
