The owner of an approximately .32-acre surface parking lot in Koreatown intends to redevelop the property with a multifamily residential complex, per a filing today with the City of Los Angeles.

The project site, located at 689 S. Catalina Street, is slated for an eight-story, 94-foot-tall building that would feature 61 apartments.  Plans call for an approximately 60,000-square-foot structure.

Immediately north of the subject property, developer Jamison Services is converting the former Los Angeles headquarters of Texaco into 216 apartments with ground-floor commercial space.  Construction is also underway to add three new floors atop an existing parking structure, creating 122 residential units.
