With the publication of an environmental report this week by the Los Angeles Department of City Planning, the Fashion District's latest mixed-use complex has taken another step forward.

The project, which comes from local developer Jade Enterprises, would replace a series of small commercial buildings at the southwest corner of 11th and Main Streets.  Plans call for a eight-story, 92-foot-tall building which would feature 379 apartments - including 42 for very low income households - and 26,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial uses.

Architecture firm MVE + Partners is designing the mid-rise development, which would include open space amenities such as a roof deck, a swimming pool and a fitness center.  A mid-block pocket park is also planned along the Main Street side of the property.

According to the environmental report, construction of the 11th & Main project would occur over approximately two years, with completion tentatively scheduled for 2021.

Jade Enterprises also owns the Harris Building directly across the street, which was recently rehabilitated as creative offices.
