Located at 1900 Long Beach Boulevard, the five-story development from Linc Housing Corp. will feature 95 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments upon completion. Half of the apartments will be reserved for households earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area median income, while the remainder of the residential units will cater to formerly homeless persons or those at risk of becoming homeless in the future.
City Fabrick, D33 Design, and WHA Architects, the contemporary podium-type building, which will house a YMCA Youth Institute, a health clinic, and a cafe on its ground floor. The project will also include a street-level garden, a central courtyard, and on-site programming for residents.
Completion of the $52-million housing complex is expected in late 2020.
The development site is located a short distance north of a similar affordable housing development from AMCAL Multi-Housing, which is now under construction at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Long Beach Boulevard.
