A presentation posted by the the Wilshire Center Koreatown Neighborhood Council offers a first look at a proposed multifamily housing development near the intersection of 8th Street and Kingsley Drive.

The project, slated for a proeprty at 815-831 S. Kingsley Drive, would replace a series of small residential buildings with a six-story edifice containing 114 apartments and a two-level, 162-car basement parking garage.  The applicant, an entity affiliated with Jamison Services, Inc., would set aside 12 apartments for extremely low-income households, making the project eligible for Transit Oriented Communities development incentives.

DFH Architects is designing the apartment complex, which is depicted as a boxy low-rise structure clad in gray stucco and orange and white metal panels.  Architectural plans show a mix of open spaces, including a rooftop amenity deck, a podium-level courtyard, and several interior common rooms.

The development site is located just south of 8th Street, where numerous large multifamily housing projects are also planned or under construction.

On an adjacent site fronting Harvard Boulevard, Jamison Services is now building a larger 131-unit apartment complex.

Two blocks east, the 364-unit Rise Koreatown apartments are now rising at the corner of 8th Street and Serrano Avenue.
