An architectural rendering has emerged for a proposed mixed-use development in Downtown's Industrial District.

Last year, plans were filed with the City of Los Angeles to redevelop a small retail center at 6th Street and Central Avenue as a residential-retail complex.  The project, which renderings refer to as 6th at Central, would consist of 225 market rate apartments and 11 units of very low income housing above approximately 12,000 square feet of retail space and parking for 305 vehicles.

Ownership records link the roughly one-acre property to Howard Klein, a co-owner of the Factory Place Arts Complex.

The proposed development at 6th and Central is depicted as a contemporary eight-story building, designed by local architecture firm Togawa Smith Martin.

Additional details about the project are currently unclear.
