Across the street from the Queen Anne Recreation Center in the Mid-Wilshire neighborhood, construction is underway for an infill apartment complex.

The project, which is being developed by Goodson Real Estate, replaces four residential units at the southwest corner of West Avenue and Dockweiler Street with a five-story, 20-unit apartment building.  Plans call for a mix of one- and two-bedroom dwellings, with three to be priced as very low-income affordable housing.

Bittoni Architects is designing 1251 West Avenue, which will consist of four residential levels above an at-grade parking garage with 16 stalls.  Architectural plans approved by the City of Los Angeles show that the building will have a roof deck.

Completion of the West Apartments is anticipated in late 2020.

Goodson and Bittoni Architects are also working on 12 small lot houses in Mid-City and an 84-unit apartment building in Pico-Union.
