The curtain has lifted at the southeast corner of Lincoln Boulevard and Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica, the site of a mixed-use apartment complex from Century West Partners.

The project, called "The Catherine," consists of a five-story building featuring 90 apartments above 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a 168-car garage.

Plans call for a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, with monthly rents ranging between $3,385 and $7,195 per month.

Michael W. Folonis Architects designed The Catherine, which greets the intersection of Lincoln and Colorado with a double-height plaza.  On-site amenities will include a courtyard pool and a rooftop deck.

The second phase of the Catherine - a two-building development featuring 191 apartments - is currently under construction on an adjacent site.

Additional developments now in progress in the near vicinity include Cypress Equity Investments' 44-unit Junction Santa Monica apartments and WS Communities' 100-unit 1550 Lincoln complex.
