In West Los Angeles, the wood frame of a new mixed-use development is rising a half-mile south of Expo/Bundy Station.

The project, which comes from the Calabasas-based Amoroso Companies, consists of a five-story structure at 11916 Pico Boulevard.  At completion, the low-rise structure will offer 100 rental apartments - a mix of studio, live/work, one-, and two-bedroom dwellings - above approximately 2,900 square feet of ground-floor retail uses.

KFA Architecture designed the podium-type building, which will offer open space amenities such as a fitness center, a roof deck, and two courtyards.  Plans also call for finishes such as wood paneling and ceramic tiles.

The development, which broke ground in 2017, is on pace for completion in 2019.

Amoroso Companies recently purchased a nearby property at the intersection of Pico and Gateway Boulevard, which could potentially see a similar development.
