In Echo Park, the wood frame of a low-rise apartment building is now taking shape to the north of the park from which the neighborhood takes its name.

The four-story development, located at 2014 Sunset Boulevard, will feature 36 residential units according to permit filings with the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.  Additional details about the project are currently unclear.

A number of residential developments are either planned or under construction along this stretch of Sunset Boulevard, including a live/work building at 1313 Sunset, the proposed Sunset Everett mixed-use project, and the towering 1111 Sunset development.

Mixed-Use Development Planned Near Laguna Niguel Metrolink Station

The project is part of the city's Gateway District.

The Laguna Niguel Planning Commission has approved a mixed-use development near the city's Metrolink Station.  The joint venture between Blackwood Real Estate and Walbern, located near the intersection of Crown Valley Parkway and Forbes Road, will consist of 100 two- and three-bedroom apartments in a seven-story building.  Plans also call for 2,700 square feet of ground-floor retail space, as well as a pool courtyard, a fitness center, a private garden, and a sky deck.
