On November 9th, a grand opening celebration will mark LA Fashion District’s newest adaptive reuse project-- the Grether & Grether Lofts.

The event will take place in the ground floor, mezzanine and roof top of the Grether & Grether Lofts at 730 South Los Angeles Street on Thursday November 9, 2017 from 6-10pm, coinciding with the monthly Downtown Art Walk. The event is open to the public, and no RSVP necessary.

Several of the 72 newly renovated lofts will be open to the public for an exclusive first viewing. The rooftop, which features 360 views of the Downtown Los Angeles sky scape, will be open featuring music and live painting by artists James Haunt, Kingsley Dawson Brock, and Mikolaj Wyszynski.

Street Art House, famously known for the instagram worthy pairs of angel wings and other recognizable works in the LA area, will also be showcasing some of their newest work at the event.

Guests can enjoy an open bar as well as a popup taco stand, fruit stand, and ice cream provided by Peddler’s Creamery. Imperfect Produce, a fruit and veggie delivery service, and Wag!, the latest dog walking app, will also be featured at the event.

The building was originally commissioned in 1921 by the Grether Brothers, and is now a nationally registered historic landmark. South Park Group, a full service real estate and development company based in West Hollywood, performed a thoughtful renovation, faithfully restoring the building with modern touches. The ground floor of Grether & Grether Lofts contains 13,856 square feet of retail and mezzanine space suitable for retail, restaurant or fitness use. The space’s dramatic 20 foot ceilings catch the eye, as does the original grand staircase connecting the ground floor to the mezzanine. Additional space with private offices are also available on the mezzanine level. Subterranean, secure parking is also available onsite for residents.

The upper floors contain 72 luxury lofts, with a combination of studios and one-bedroom units all with private patios and/or fire escapes. Some residential units overlook the pedestrianized Santee Court while others overlook Los Angeles Street. All units are equipped with state of the art kitchens including stainless steel appliances, gas stoves, and washer and dryer in all units.

The rooftop is a stunner, featuring 360-degree views of the Downtown L.A. skyline, gas barbeque and communal eating and leisure areas. Lush greenery and trees abound, including a “living roof” of handpicked flowers and plants. The rooftop is also equipped with a yoga and meditation gazebo, jacuzzi, and dog run.
