Site preparation is now underway for Periscope, a multifamily residential development in Silver Lake.

Located on a hillside property along Riverside Drive, the project will consist of eight freestanding structures that rise three stories in height.  According to the website of design Project M Plus, the mixture of single-family homes and duplexes will create 14 total residential units.

Renderings portray a contemporary look for Periscope, with floor-to-ceiling windows to take advantage of natural light.

The development site borders a former Red Car right-of-way, which has since been converted to a walking trail.  The developers of Periscope have agreed to improve the landscaping along the path.

The project was first reported by the Eastsider.

North on Riverside Drive, work recently began on a larger four-story, 120-unit apartment complex.
