First signs emerged last month when protective fencing appeared at 6516-6526 W. Selma Avenue, but now it's official: construction is underway for Hollywood's Tommie Hotel.

The project, which comes from Relevant Group, will consist of an eight-story edifice featuring 212 guest rooms, ground-floor retail space, and an underground parking garage.

The mid-rise building is being designed by Steinberg Hart with amenity decks at the roof and podium levels.

Relevant Group is already into vertical construction at a 10-story, 200-room Thompson Hotel at a nearby site on Wilcox Avenue.
