A small industrial building near Anaheim's Gardenwalk shopping mall could be razed to make way for new hotel development.

The project, as revealed in a presentation to the Anaheim Planning Commission, would rise from a nearly 30,000-square-foot site at 1730 S. Clementine Street.  Plans call for the construction of a six-story building featuring 125 guest rooms with a small market and restaurant, as well as parking for 86 vehicles.

AXIS/GFA is designing the hotel, which is described as a "modern take on classic American architecture."  Proposed exterior finishes include board and batten, glass, and metal, while on-site amenities would include a rooftop pool deck, a fitness room, and a guest lounge.

City records list the developer of the hotel as RH Anaheim Barn, LLC - a Los Angeles-based entity.

The project is the latest in a recent string of new developments in the Anaheim Resort District, following closely behind a new J.W. Marriott hotel complex which was recently completed on the opposite side of Clementine Street.

BLVD Hospitality's other recent projects include a citizenM hotel how under construction in Downtown Los Angeles.
