A short distance from the hotel, a groundbreaking is nearing for 17850VK, a nine-story office tower that is being developed by Hines Interests and Oaktree Capital.  The proposed building, named for its address at 17850 Von Karman Avenue, will contain 237,000 square feet of leasable Class A space, as well as amenities such as a fitness center, conference facility and space for hosting food trucks.

The mid-rise tower, designed by Gensler, will feature floor-to-ceiling glass and flexible workspaces.

Completion is expected by Fall 2017.
