Just south of Washington Boulevard in the Marina Arts District, work is underway on a project that will transform a former industrial warehouse into a small office campus.

The project, located at 13402 Beach Avenue, is called "The Container."  Developer California Landmark Group is retrofitting and expanding upon an existing two-story structure.  The completed development will offer just 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space with access to 28 parking stalls.

OKB Architecture is designing the project, which will have a colorful exterior that incorporates shipping containers into its design.

The Container will also have access to additional parking in the adjacent G8 development, which is also being built by California Landmark Group.  That project, located at 4040 Del Rey Avenue, will feature 228 apartments.

Since 2006, California Landmark has invested heavily in the surrounding neighborhood - spending $350 million to build 725 apartments in seven developments.  Its most recent projects - called R3 and C1 - opened in 2017 and 2019 respectively.

California Landmark Group is also developing multifamily housing in Silver LakeWest Los Angeles, and Palms.
