A collection of small residential buildings in Koreatown have met with the wrecking ball, and are now being replaced with larger apartment complexes.

At 1055 S. Serrano Avenue, the concrete base of a four-story, 20-unit apartment building is now taking shape.  The low-rise structure is being built atop a two-story underground parking garage.

One block east at 1039 S. Hobart Boulevard, the wooden framework of a three-story, 28-unit building is nearing completion.  Architect Sandra J. Baik designed the contemporary low-rise building.

Major Koreatown landlord Jamison Services, Inc. is also building two larger residential buildings nearby at 1011 S. Serrano Avenue and at 3060 W. Olympic Boulevard.
