At its meeting this morning, the Los Angeles City Council voted to approve the release of approximately $52.3 million in multifamily housing revenue bonds to developer Meta Housing Corp. for the construction of affordable housing in Mid-City and Sylmar.
The first project, called the Washington Arts Collective, would replace two city-owned parking lots at 4600 and 4601 W. Washington Boulevard. Developer Meta Housing Corp. is planning a pair of four-story buildings containing a combined total of 56 apartments, including one manager's unit, 20 units set aside for formerly homeless families and individuals, and 35 reserved for low-income families.
The contemporary low-rise buildings, designed by Y&M Architects, would also include 90 parking stalls and resident amenities.
The vote by the City Council approved $31.1 million in funding for the two-building project.
The second development called The Link at Sylmar, would rise from a currently-vacant site at 12667 San Fernando Road. Plans call for 56 apartments, with one manager's unit and 55 units to be reserved for low-income seniors.
The vote by the City Council enables the release of $21.2 million in bond financing for The Link.
Meta Housing previously developed a 101-unit affordable housing complex less than a half-mile on San Fernando Road.
