A new program launched by City of Los Angeles will provide legal assistance for residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program, called LA Represents, expands existing pro bono commitments from law firms, bar associations, and attorneys for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis.

Organizations participating in the program - including the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, Bet Tzedek, Public Counsel, Inner City Law Center, Neighborhood Legal Services, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and Asian Americans Advancing Justice - will provide legal representation for low-income and vulnerable residents with employment, consumer debt, bankruptcy matters, and other issues.

Bet Tzedek has also partnered with the City to provide assistance to small businesses that may lack legal representation for the purposes of renegotiating leases, applying for government relief programs, and navigating new workplace regulations.
