A new apartment building proposed for Palms will be reviewed next week by the Los Angeles City Planning Commission.

The project, which was filed with the Planning Department this past summer, would redevelop at the southwest corner of Overland and Rose Avenues with a six-story building featuring 41 apartments - including four units for very low-income households.

DFH Architects is designing the podium-type building, the firm's third project on Overland Avenue.  Renderings show a contemporary design featuring an active roof level.

An abutting property owner has appealed the project's positive determination letter to the Planning Commission due to a dispute over an alleyway which runs between the two sites.  A staff report recommends that the Commission deny the appeal.
