In Koreatown, construction was completed earlier this year for Hallasan, a new apartment tower located one block southwest of Wilshire/Vermont Station at 696 S. New Hampshire Avenue. Now, development firm Holland Partner Group is offering a look inside.

The 36-story building, which replaced a surface parking lot at the northeast corner of 7th Street and New Hampshire Avenue, include 375 residential units in studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans. Monthly rents for the property range from $2,491 for a 468-foot studio to as much as $9,884 for a penthouse unit.

MVE + Partners designed the tower, which is clad in glass on its upper floors and a transparent screen around its parking podium. The tower features amenity decks above both its podium and rooftop. The complex also features a fitness center, a swimming pool, and a co-working lounge.

Amenity decks have been placed above both the tower podium and its rooftop level, with features including a fitness, a swimming pool, and a co-working lounge.

“We are thrilled to have had this opportunity to design once again for longtime partner Holland Partner Group,” said MVE + Partners principal and director of design for Los Angeles Sherwin Pineda in a news release. “Hallasan is an important part of Koreatown’s renaissance, and it’s inspiring to see their investment in this historic Los Angeles neighborhood.”

The tower was entitled as the signature component of a larger mixed-use project proposed by Harridge Development Group, which also permits the conversion of an I. Magnin department store on Wilshire Boulevard into a 160-room hotel and the redevelopment of an adjoining parking lot with a low-rise apartment complex.

The tower follows a handful of similar high-rise buildings which have recently arrived in Koreatown, including the 25-story Kurve on Wilshire and 3033 Wilshire. Other projects in the works include a two-tower complex from Jamison Services now rising next to Wilshire/Normandie Station, the 40-story Terrace Block development, and a 34-story tower proposed by Crescent Heights.
