Dallas-based real estate firm Trammell Crow Company is set to begin construction on the Boardwalk, a mid-rise office complex along the border between Irvine and Newport Beach.

The twin nine-story buildings, slated for a 7.5-acre site at the corner of Jamboree Road and Dupont Drive, will feature a combined total of 545,000 square feet of office space. The project will also include 5,000 square feet of restaurant space and two acres of landscaped open space.

Designs from architecture firm Gensler call for unique amenities such as conference and training centers, a gym, concierge service bike lockers and a rooftop patio.  The buildings themselves will offer high ceilings, destination dispatch elevators, and high-performance floor-to-ceiling glass.

Construction activity has been ramping up at the project site, with the recent arrival of a pile driver.  According to a press release, construction officially began in the first quarter of 2016 and is expected to complude in Spring 2017.
