Los Angeles-based FMB Development has announced the start of construction for a mixed-use building in North Hollywood. 

The new development, located at 11436 W. Hatteras Street, will consist of a five-story edifice featuring 28 apartments above 450 square feet of ground-floor retail space.  Plans call for exclusively two-bedroom floor plans, in addition to a 1,900-square-foot rooftop amenity deck.

FMB is partnering with Build 4 You on the project, which will be located within walking distance of the North Hollywood terminus of Metro's Red Line subway.

FMB broke ground last year on a similar mixed-use project near Pico Station in Downtown Los Angeles.
