An entity affiliated with Weintraub Real Estate Group has filed plans with the City of Los Angeles to construct mixed-income housing just west of the Van Nuys Airport.

The proposed development, slated for a property at 7650 Balboa Boulevard, would replace a portion of what is now a mobile home park.  Plans call for the construction of a five-story edifice containing 127 dwelling units - half of which would be designated as affordable housing.

Requested entitlements for the project include a zone change and density bonus incentives to allow for relief from a transitional height requirement and a reduction required parking to one space per affordable unit.

Additional details regarding the project are not stated in its case filing.

Weintraub Real Estate Group, based out of Malibu, once sought to develop a high-rise apartment tower adjacent to the historic Vibiana Cathedral in Downtown Los Angeles.  The property has since been developed with an eight-story building by Holland Partner Group.
