Another podium-type apartment complex is now rising on the side streets of Hollywood.

The development, which comes from Los Angeles-based real estate firm Evolution Strategic Partners, consists of a four-story building at 1558 N. Gordon Street.  The Gordon North project will offer 49 apartments when completed in late 2017, and is being marked for its close proximity to destinations such as Columbia Square and the Red Line subway.

An architectural rendering portrays a contemporary design, similar to other recent multifamily developments in Hollywood.

The building is locted just one block north of Sunset Boulevard, where a 23-story tower from CIM Group is already complete, and a seven-story mixed-use project is in the works across the street.

North along Carlton Way, a pocket park recently replaced a vacant lot.
