The $20-million MyFigueroa streetscape improvement project is well into construction between Downtown and Exposition Park, with its pedestrian safety enhancements and protected bike lanes expected to open by early 2018.

Our friends at Streetsblog LA recently took a look at the progress on the southern leg of the project which abuts USC.

Photos from architectural photographer Hunter Kerhart provide a look at construction at the northern end of MyFigueroa, specifically the six-block segment of 11th Street between Figueroa and Broadway.

Specific changes along this stretch include a reduction in travel lanes and the implementation of a new bike lane.  The proposed Downtown street car alignment would eventually overlap with the project area.

This article has been updated to reflect the new construction schedule for MyFigueroa.

In Inglewood, a local developer has filed plans to construct townhomes just west of La Brea Avenue. The proposed development, slated for an L-shaped property at 113-133 W. Plymouth Street, would replace 11 existing single-family residences with 20 three-story townhomes above a basement parking garage.
