Construction is now underway for the Coronel Apartments, a new affordable housing complex from Hollywood Community Housing Corporation.

The project, located just south of Hollywood Boulevard, spans approximately .75 acres between Serrano Avenue and Hobart Boulevard.  Plans call for a four-story edifice, featuring 54 one-, two- and three-bedroom dwellings.

The Coronel will cater towards families making between 30 and 50 percent of the Los Angeles area median income, with montly rents ranging from $488 to $1,354.

Killefer Flammang Architects designed the low-rise development, which will integrate an existing 1920s pueblo style home at the Serrano streetfront.
