A tipster sends word that the owner of two mid-century apartment buildings in Koreatown is considering redeveloping the property with a larger multifamily residential complex.

The property, located at 427 S. Berendo Street, would consist of a seven-story building featuring 85 apartments above a partially subterranean garage. A rendering depicts a contemporary podium-type structure lined with balconies.

However, no filings appear in city records at this point in time.

A number of similar residential buildings are now under construction throughout Koreatown, including a project at 5th Street and Kenmore Avenue from Canfield Development.
