KFA Architecture has unveiled new renderings of a mixed-use development now under construction a half-mile south of Metro's Expo/Bundy Station.

The Amoroso Pico development, which replaced a commercial building at 11916 W. Pico Boulevard, consists of a five-story building that will feature 100 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments atop 2,400 square feet of ground-floor retail.

Renderings depict a contemporary low-rise structure featuring amenities including a fitness center, courtyards, community rooms, and a rooftop deck.  The project fronts Pico Boulevard with a facade of wood paneling and ceramic tile.

The developer, the Amoroso Group of Companies, also owns the former Kelbo's Restaurant at the corner of Pico and Gateway Boulevard, where a similar 102-unit apartment complex is also planned.

Another mixed-use development featuring 80 apartments and retail is proposed across the street from the Amoroso Pico site.
