Next on Lex, a $280-million residential-retail complex, has now progressed above ground level in Downtown Glendale.

The project from Century West Partners, which is billed as the largest multifamily development to break ground in Los Angeles County during 2016, will feature 494 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments above approximately 8,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurant space.

The trio of six-story buildings, designed by Killefer Flammang Architects, will also include a business center, a gym, a yoga studio, a competition-sized pool, a sky lounge, a roof deck and an underground parking garage.  A landscaped paseo will cut through the development site.

According to an official website, Next on Lex is on track for completion in early 2018.

Century West is also in the midst of construction on the related Next on Sixth development in Koreatown.
