Next week, the West L.A. Area Planning Commission will take up an appeal fighting a proposed eldercare facility in Pacific Palisades.

The proposed development, located at 1525-1533 N. Palisades Drive, calls for the construction of a four-story building that would feature 82 rooms providing a combination of assisted living care and dementia care.  Rony Shram is listed as the project's applicant through an entity known as Palisades Drive, LP.

GMPA Architects is designing the low-rise structure, which would feature a landscaped outdoor deck on its third floor.

The appeal, which was filed by a group of 13 neighbors to the property, argues that the City should not have granted approval to the project, citing a broad array of reasons, including its proximity to a busy hiking trail, as well as the risk of flash floods, earthquakes, and wildfires in Pacific Palisades.
