Westlake's Holiday Lodge Motel, built in the 1950s, could make way for a larger hotel.

Yesterday, an application was submitted to the Department of City Planning to raze the 59-room motel at 1631 W. 3rd Street to allow for the construction of a new four-story, 157-room hotel above two partially subterranean parking levels.  The proposed development would also include meeting rooms, a fitness center, and retail space.

The roughly one-acre site traded hands in 2014.  Property records show that it is currently under the ownership of an Arcadia-based entity called Innlacity, Inc.  That entity is itself connected to VIC International, a company that specializes in hotel sales and management.

A case filing describes the building as rising to a maximum height of 85 feet above ground level.

Additional details regarding the project are unclear.
