Greystar Real Estate Partners is putting the finishing touches on Cobalt, a new apartment building adjacent to Sony Pictures Studios.

Located at the northeast corner of Washington Boulevard and Overland Avenue, the seven-story building featuring 135 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments atop 14,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 294 basement parking spaces.  A total of 11 units are to be set aside as affordable housing.

VTBS Architects designed the building, which features five levels of wood-frame construction above a concrete podium.  The project includes amenities such as a fitness center, a swimming pool, and two open-air lounges.

The Cobalt development is located a half-mile south of a similar development at Charnock Road and Overland Avenue.

Greystar is in the midst of construction on several other multifamily residential developments in the Los Angeles area, including projects in Marina del Rey, the Arts District, and North Hollywood.
