At its meeting this week, the Los Angeles City Planning Commission is scheduled to consider a proposed hotel in the Westlake district.

Slated for the current site of a shopping center at 2005 James M. Wood Boulevard, plans call for the construction of a six-story building featuring 100 guest rooms with nearly 11,000 square feet of office, restaurant, and meeting space, as well as 100 parking spaces.  The hotel would also include guest amenities such as a swimming pool and a gym on the building's second floor.

San Diego-based Joseph Wong Design Associates is designing the proposed hotel, which renderings indicate would be operated as a Staybridge Suites.

A staff report to the Planning Commission recommends that the project receive approval.

The proposed Staybridge Suites is being developed by Infinitely Group.
