Next week, representatives of Amidi Group will offer the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council's Planning and Land Use Committee an opportunity to review a proposed mid-rise development in City West.

The proposed mixed-use complex, slated for a parking lot at 1018 W. Ingraham Street, would consist of an eight-story, 95-foot-tall building featuring seven floors apartments over street-level retail space.  Plans call for 37 residential units - in a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans - with 2,000 square feet of commercial uses and a landscaped amenity deck at the roof level.

The project is notable for ground-up developments in that it proposes fully off-site parking, an arrangement frequently seen in the converted office buildings that line the Historic Core.  Amidi intends to provide 40 vehicular spaces and has identified two existing garages capable of accommodating residents.  One, located at the Piero Apartments, already has 90 deed-restricted parking spaces available to the developer.  The other, located at 1027 Wilshire Boulevard, is the site of a nine-story apartment complex that Amidi began construction on in late 2017.  Other sites are also under consideration, but not specified.

Macrocons, an Amidi-owned firm, has designed the project as a nondescript mid-rise structure lined with glass balconies.  The proposed building would mirror the footprint of the existing parking lot, rising to an amenity deck overlooking the Harbor Freeway and the Downtown skyline.  Other proposed amenities include a fitness center and a linear patio on the west side of the building.

Amidi, which entered the Downtown scene by converting a nearby office building at 1010 Wilshire Boulevard into apartments, also harbors plans for an eight-story residential-retail complex on Brand Boulevard in Glendale.

Their project at Ingraham Street is one of a handful of larger developments proposed or underway in City West at the moment, highlighted by a trio of proposed high-rise towers along a brief stretch of 7th Street.  Other projects include the proposed Sapphire Apartments on 6th Street and the massive Ferrante development on Temple Street.

Progress Report for Metrolinks New Burbank Airport Station

The new stop on the Antelope Valley Line is scheduled to open in May.

One year into construction, a new commuter rail station is nearing completion at Hollywood Burbank Airport.

The at-grade station Burbank Airport - North Station will provide daily service on Metrolink's Antelope Valley Line when it opens this coming May.  It is located approximately one mile from the airport and will be connected to the main terminal through a shuttle service.  The complete project includes canopies, bike racks, benches, and electronic displays for train schedules.
