Architecture firm Studio T-Square 2 has unveiled renderings for 442 Ocean, developer Ensemble Residential's new apartment complex in Downtown Long Beach.

The project, now rising at the crossing of Queens and Seaside Way, will consist of a six-story building featuring 95 residential units above an underground parking garage.  A project page from the Ensemble website dubs the development "Serenade."

Renderings portray a contemporary podium-type structure featuring outdoor decks and other amenities.

Construction of the 442 Ocean is currently underway, just one block south of the $520-million rebuild of the Long Beach Civic Center.

A 9,300-square-foot surface parking lot in Westlake is slated for development, according to plans filed last week with the City of Los Angeles.

The property, located at 366 S. Loma Drive, could see the construction of a six-story building featuring 39 apartments - including affordable units - above a partially subterranean parking garage.
