A presentation to the Wilshire Center/Koreatown Neighborhood Council has unveiled renderings for Jamison Services, Inc.'s proposed mixed-use apartment complex at 8th Street and Serrano Avenue

The proposed development, which would replace a surface parking lot, calls for the construction of a six-story building featuring 157 studio, one-, and two-bedroom units - including 16 set aside for extremely low-income households - with 12,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and two levels of subterranean parking for 96 vehicles.

Togawa Smith Martin is designing the contemporary low-rise structure, which would be clad with a mix of stucco, glass, and metal.  Architectural diagrams show a courtyard at the building's podium level - featuring a swimming pool - and a rooftop deck.

Jamison Services is seeking entitlements for the project through the Transit Oriented Communities guidelines

The project site is currently being used as a staging ground for the Rise Koreatown, a 364-unit development now under construction across the street.

Jamison is also in the midst of construction on a similar project two blocks east at 8th Street and Harvard Boulevard.
