A staff presentation to the Crenshaw Corridor Design Review Board unveils rendering for a proposed multifamily residential building in Hyde Park

Slated for a property at 5909-5915 S. Crenshaw Boulevard, the project would replace smaller multifamily residential buildings with a five-story edifice containing 65 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments.

The Code Solution is designing the contemporary low-rise building, which would include 10 very low-income affordable units, making the project eligible for Transit Oriented Communities development incentives.  Architectural plans show a rooftop amenity deck and a central courtyard.

City records list the project applicant as ABY Holdings, LLC.

The development site is located two blocks south of a new light rail station now under construction at the corner of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue.  The new Hyde Park Station has already spurred plans for several market rate and affordable housing projects, the largest of which is a contentious proposal to redevelop the rent-stabilized Dorset Village apartments.
