Nearly one year after breaking ground, construction has topped out for Greenway Meadows, a senior affordable housing development from Community Corp. of Santa Monica.
Located at 1820 14th Street in the Pico neighborhood, the project consists of a three-story edifice which will contain 39 apartments, a community room, and other ancillary features.
DE Architects is designing the wood-frame building, which will include a ground-floor courtyard and a rooftop deck. Plans call for an exterior composed of fiber cement panels and plaster.
Completion is anticipated in December 2020, according to the Santa Monica Daily Press.
Community Corp. is planning similar affordable housing developments at nearby sites on 14th Street and Pico Boulevard. The developer is already in the midst of construction on new apartment communities in Mar Vista and on Lincoln Boulevard.
