A pair of single-family homes in the Sawtelle area could make way for a multifamily residential development, according to plans submitted yesterday to the City of Los Angeles.

The proposed apartment complex, located just south of Pico Boulevard at 2415-2419 S. Barrington Avenue, calls for the construction of a seven-story, 86-foot-tall building featuring 38 residential units - including four to be set aside as affordable housing at the extremely low-income level.

The project's requested entitlements include a reduction in required open space and rear- and side-yard setbacks, in according with the Transit Oriented Communities guidelines.

The applicant behind the project is listed as Pirooz Amona through the entity Barrington Five, LLC.

Amona is also behind plans for a six-story, 17-unit apartment complex in the Palms neighborhood.
