A mid-century apartment building in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood make way for an eldercare facility, according to plans filed recently with the City of Los Angeles.

The proposed development, slated to replace a 12-unit structure at 843-847 S. Sherbourne Drive, calls for the construction of a seven-story edifice featuring 56 dwellings units - including 48 assisted living units and eight dementia care units.

Property records list the owner of the existing two-story structure as Daly Property Management Corp., which acquired the building in 1998.

Additional details regarding the propose development are not clear based on its case filing with the Planning Department.

The project site is located less than two miles east from the site of another proposed eldercare facility at 1122-1136 S. Roxbury Drive.  That project would include 57 units of senior independent and assisted living housing.
