A tipster sends word that a large dirt pit has taken form at the southeast corner of San Vicente Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, signaling that construction is now underway for a new retail center.

The project, which spans approximately 1.3 acres, would consist of a two-story structure featuring 75,000 square feet of retail space and approximately 337 parking spaces.

According to a leasing brochure, the project is being developed by Los Angeles-based real estate firm CIM Group.

Delivery is expected sometime in 2017.

Data Center Planned for Parking Lot Near Union Station Terminal Annex

Transit-oriented data center?

A large parking lot next door to the Union Station Terminal Annex Building is slated for development as a data center. CoreSite Realty Corp., a Denver-based owner and operator of data centers across the country, is behind the proposed development, which would raze the parking lot at 900 N. Alameda Street for the construction of a four-story, 93-foot-tall data center with nearly 180,000 square feet of floor area.
