A small surface parking lot located just north of the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been reduced to dirt as plans for the Whiskey Hotel come to fruition.
The property, located at 1717 N. Wilcox Avenue, has been approved for the construction of a seven-story hotel featuring 133 guest rooms in addition to 3,580 square feet of restaurant space and a two-level, 103-car subterranean parking garage.
A rendering depicts a contemporary low-rise structure, standing approximately 89 feet in height. Plans call for amenity decks at the podium level, as well as a rooftop restaurant and terrace level.
City records list the project's architect as CK Architecture. Entitlement designs for the hotel were done by Roschen Van Cleve Architects.
An environmental study conducted for the project points to a roughly two-year construction timeline.
The project, which is being developed by local restaurant owner and investor Adolfo Suaya, is one of a handful of hotels planned north of the Walk of Fame.
Two blocks west on Whitley Avenue, a 40-unit apartment complex is slated to make way for a 10-story, 156-room hotel.
Another apartment complex flanking Suaya's property is also slated to be developed with a seven-story, 81-room hotel.
