Nearly three years after clearing a small commercial building at 3570 Motor Avenue for redevelopment, RBM of CA has completed vertical construction of a mixed-use building on the property.

The project, located in the Palms neighborhood, consists of a six-story edifice consisting of wood-frame construction above a concrete podium.  The completed development will offer 42 one- bedroom apartments - with four set aside as affordable housing - above 1,724 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a 52-car garage.

DE Architects is designing the podium-type building, which is depicted with a contemporary look.  The apartment complex, in addition to housing, will feature a courtyard, a swimming pool, a rooftop amenity deck, and a fitness center.

RBM of CA, a subsidiary of the Japanese real estate investment firm Residence Building Management Co., recently broke ground on a similar project in the Mid-Wilshire neighborhood.

The 3570 Motor development joints a slew of similar mixed-use project under construction on Motor and Overland Avenues - the two main north-south streets in the Palms neighborhood.
