Non-profit developer Skid Row Housing Trust has broken ground on yet another permanent supportive housing development in Downtown Los Angeles.

The Flor 401 Lofts, located at the northeast corner of 7th and Wall Streets, will consist of a six-story building featuring 98 studio apartments catering to the chronically homeless, including veterans, low-income persons, and those with special needs.

Koning Eizenberg Architecture is designing the nearly $50-million project, which will feature on-site supportive services, a community room, multiple patios, and a garden.

The units in Flor 401 will be reserved for persons earning between 30 and 50 percent of the Los Angeles area median income, with rents ranging from as low as $473 per month to as much as $788 per month.

Construction of Flor 401 is expected to be completed in July 2020, according to a representative of the developer.

Skid Row Housing Trust is already building two other developments in the Downtown area.  The 649 Lofts, now under construction at the opposite corner of 7th and Wall, and the SP7 Lofts, located at 7th and San Pedro Streets, will combine to create nearly 130 permanent supportive housing units.
