Reach for the Top, a Los Angeles-based developer of affordable housing, has started construction on a small apartment building to serve low- and moderate-income single women with children.

The project, known as Casa Amador, is located on a single parcel at 4801 W. Adams Boulevard.  Building permits describe a three-story building, featuring six residential units above ground-level retail and accessory office space.

Per City records, the project is being funded in part by a $2.15 million Community Development Block Grant.  A completion date for Casa Amador has not been announced.

Another Los Angeles-based developer - Abode Communities - has plans for two similar affordable housing complexes nearby in West Adams.
