An environmental report published by the City of Los Angeles details plans for the Parkview Project, a proposed affordable housing development in Central-Alameda.

In August, an entity affiliated with developer Thomas Safran & Associates submitted an application to the Planning Department to redevelop a site at 4020 S. Compton Avenue with a trio of three-story buildings featuring 127 apartments, 37,000 square feet of open space, and structure parking for 130 vehicles.  The fully affordable development would provide a mixture of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom dwellings.

Architectural plans show three low-rise structures featuring jagged rooflines and articulated facades. Two central lawns would sit at the heart of the property, serving residents and their families.  Anand Devarajan Architecture is affiliated with the Parkview Project.

Construction is anticipated to occur over an approximately 26 month period, with conclusion expected sometime during 2022.

Parkview is one of a litany of affordable housing developments now planned by Thomas Safran & Associates, joining projects in other communities such as Venice, Sawtelle, Watts, Carson, Hollywood, and Panorama City.
