The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles has nearly completed the steel framework of its new Pico Union headquarters.

The four-story structure, located at the southeast corner of 8th Street and Union Avenue, will feature approximately 34,000 square feet of office space, consolidating the nonprofit organization's Central and West offices under a single roof.

Culver City-based House & Robertson Architects are designing the low-rise structure, which will also offer 9,000 square feet of terracaces and balconies, as well as a 33-car garage.  The building will eventually be clad with a skin of earth-tone cement plaster and glass.

LAFLA, founded in 1929, is billed as one of the largest public interest law firms in the country, providing legal services to free legal services to low-income people.
