The wood frame of Theo, a new multifamily residential complex in Pasadena, is now complete.

Summerhill Apartment Communities broke ground on the six-story development in late 2017. Located at 289 N. El Molino Avenue, the project will feature 105 residential units. A mix of one- and two-bedroom floor plans will be accompanied by open space amenities on the podium and rooftop decks, and a subterranean parking garage with 154 spaces.

KTGY Architecture + Planning designed the contemporary mid-rise structure. The project takes its name from the adjacent Theodore Parker Lukens House - a 19th century Victorian home that is among the oldest in Pasadena. KTGY and Summerhill worked with Pasadena Heritage and the City of Pasadena's Design Commission to ensure the modern design complemented its historic surroundings.

Theo is expected to open this coming August.

The project site is located a block north of Walnut Avenue, where a 115-unit mixed-use development is set to rise this year.
